Old book journal

Feels like ages since I posted something new. Last few weeks I spent looking in Google and YouTube to find idea that doesn't involve all brand new scrapbook papers, paper punches and whatever else was invented. Because lets face the fact that scrapbooking and journal making today is more business than it was last year or the year before. But buying items from leading companies couldn't make you creative. So I found people who make journals using old books. Some time ago I also made my own design papers and they are perfect for making journals because I choose the size. Standard size design papers are 12x12 inch, 8x8 inch,6x6 inch ... but everyone knows how difficult is to cut them and make them fit without losing good image.
And today I'm happy to share what I did :)

The book I've used was 16x9.5 cm.
Enjoy!

Christmas box 2

Tenth day of 12 Creative days of Christmas 2011

I have someting new today :)
Start new 2012 with clean scrap space! That is what I did today ... I put in order my scrap space :) ... and .... I end up with so much paper pieces. You know how happened - have new project, cut piece of one page, punched piece from another. And in the end you have paper pieces that you can't use but don't like to throw away.
Here is part of what I had. Seemingly useless...

Most papers was from Graphic 45 "Once Upon A Springtime". I love this paper and I didin't trow away anything.
Use paper trimmer to cut stripes. Keep as much as possible. You can use even small pieces:

Use stripes to cover box that you have. I used 2 small boxes that can be attached together:

Use your faivourite adhesive to fix all stripes. I used glue and paint brush.
You end up with something that look like this:

Cut all stripes ends that stick out:

I didn't finish this box but I will share another one.I put inside some of my Christmas tags and paper clips.

Enjoy!

Christmas box

Ninth day of 12 Creative Days Of Christmas 2011

On the ninth day of Christmas I made  continuative project ... and this is Christmas box with tags. Inside I put 10 tags - 5 with snowflakes and 5 with cones.
This box is very easy. You make lid with hole so that tags are visible. I didin't put acrylic piece to protect the tags because I like the box like this.

And then the bottom is piece of chipboard that fit inside part. I covered bought sides with designer paper. On one side I put ribbon that helps to open the box. I run out of tissue tape and painted the edges with gold acrylic paint.

Christmas paper clip

Seventh day of 12 Creative Days Of Christmas 2011

On the seventh day of Christmas I made paper clips decoration...

I found these giant paper clips few weeks ago ... and I bought them immediately :) They are aproximately 4 inches long. I just love them but they was too large to fit in a mini album. And last night I just came up with another idea for Christmas project :) You can put these paper clips on Christmas presents and you can attach card with wishes.
Last night I collected anything that screamed "Christmas" in a small box and just check what worked the best...

I have more ideas how to decorate these paper clips because I have so much supplies that would go well with these idea .... I just took more natural things .... but you can use anything.
Here some close up photos:

Enjoy!!!
